More pix of course

I like to tease you by giving you only a few pix at a time.

No, not really. Its just the internet.

But first a movie recap:
Lord of War - really good. Alex and Alec need to see it. Karen too. Props for having a Bulgarian reference.
Wallace and Gromit - was awesome just like everything else with them. I liked the subtle jokes. I never realized how british it was before.
Corpse Bride - It was very entertaining and funny. I hear that A Nightmare Before Christmas was even better though.
Domino - A very good action movie. Might see wierd to some ppl though. Very Tony Scott. Like the BMW films.
Thumbsucker - A sirprisingly good movie. I hadn't heard of it b4. See if its out there.
Saw 2 - Disturbing like the last one but more bareable this time.

Still to see DOOM and Transporter 2

And now... the Larch

A really nice new building in Athens.

Anoother nice building. At first I thought that was a statue of Lenin. It would have been sad yet hilarious. Lenin in Athens (birthplace of democracy)

Olymian Temple of Zeus. Very old (evidently)
as seen from the Acropolis.

A really really ridiculously good looking picture. Yes, I was really there.
Parthenon

Athens is HUGE. It like this every way you look from the Acropolis.

Uh-oh. If Chris "croucher" Castell designed buildings........
(sorry chris)

Amphitheater of Dionysis
Too bad I didnt make the play.

A decent long exposure of Athens downtown with traffic.

The Roman Agora. Yes they were here too.

This was an ad at the Athenian Airport. Its the law to put those warnings but I think this may be even a part of the ad as it could make it even more macho. Hmmmmm.

Finally, some action

I figure its just about time to post picture I took more than a week ago in Athens. Now that they've matured here we go:

This is the Acropolis from the Agora. Quite a lovely view.

And this is the opposite. The ancient Greek Agora as seen from the Acropolis.

A head sculpture of...

The Parthenon

Not the parthenon (its the temple of the agora)

Nice statues in downtown Athens

And the other side

More comming soon.

This internet is being way too slow.

Motherland

Hey

Sorry for the big gap in postings. And I m sorry I dont have any pics this time. I've been busy with school and stuff. And, same-old-same-old-like-I-didnt-see-this-coming, our internet has gotten worse. I am flying tomorrow morning to Athens and then Bulgaria and will be back on the 22nd. I'll post alota pics when I get back. I promise. But first I must start and finish a 3000-word paper on Islam (Turkey and the West). Wish me luck.

I cant tell the difference between Wizo Butter and this dead crab.

Land of the Dead (no, not London)

So Land of the Dead was the worst movie ever bad. It was like other zombie movies. Nothing new here. But Howl's Moving Castle was great. It is another Miazaki film and was similar to Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. It was a bit late 1800's Europe in setting. With wizards of course. I think it may have already gone to DVD back in the States.

This just in, we saw where democracy died.

How Sadley

In other news, here as more pictures:

We went to Westminster Abbey. Scott found his place of worship inside(Issac Newton's Grave). And there was a physics equation on a floor tile.

There was this crazy sun clock outside. I didnt work today cuz if the weather.

Yes I was really there.

And some pubbing at the Sherlock Holmes pub.

David

And Guiness here is much better. ;)

Peace out

OK one more

Big Ben is the name of the bell not the clock face or tower.

Iambic Pentameter

Scott, David and I went to the Shakespeare Globe Theater and saw a play called The Storm. It was great. And very funny. I hope to go one more time to see Pericles.

Here is a picture from the play. It was quite modern/cheap as they asked us to use flash photography to simulate lightning.

Scott and I at the Globe.

St Paul's Cathedral from accross the river looked sweet.

Scott's call being blocked by David.

More rocks below.

PS to Dr. Esh

How's this for an overpriced Toyota?

A stack of rocks

Yes, we went to stonehendge. Its a big and very old stack of rocks in England. You might have heard of it.

No one here seems to know what they are for. Perhaps they are for looking through.

They are impressively big though. Notice those small blurs on the bottom left. Those are tiny midgets on the other side of the rocks.

We also went to Bath. It was a really nice Bathhouse built by the romans. However there were smaller structures there before the roman ruins. It was very warm water. About 114F. Kinda green and murky tho. Bath was really nice city. It has fabulous architecture including 2 lovely cathedrals.

Above this sigh is a weak british built knock-off, i mean interpretation of a statue of the man of the time.
